this obviously isn’t exhaustive - these aren’t all the reasons why these women are feminists, and it’s certainly not all the feminists in pop culture at the moment
if i forgot anyone please put them in the reblogs
I don’t really understand why Marina is on here at all — especially since she called Nicki Minaj “terrible”. Even Ke$ha has said some more interesting and relevant things, and has shown a greater sense of mindfulness and sensitivity (like when she refused to sing her song “Die Young” after the Connecticut shooting at the elementary school) than Marina has. Just because Marina makes good music that doesn’t conform to mainstream values doesn’t necessarily make her a feminist or anything.
But yeah, I like the rest of the points being made here about the other ladies aside from Marina in this line-up since a lot if not most of them get flak for making decisions for themselves or being stereotyped due to the type of music they make.

“You could be on the cover of Scientific American.” —Leekie
“Scientific American doesn’t put scientists on the cover.” —Cosima
Maybe when Leekie said this, he did so with the intention of convincing Cosima that she could be a famous scientist one day if she worked…
but then again, its kind like putting a meat suit on and telling a shark not to eat youWe (men) are not fucking sharks!
We are not rabid animals living off of pure instinct
We are capapble of rational thinking and understanding.
Just because someone is cooking food doesn’t mean you’re entitled to eat it.
Just because a banker is counting money doesn’t mean you’re being given free money.
Just because a person is naked doesn’t mean you’re entitled to fuck them.
You are not entitled to someone else’s body just because it’s exposed.
What is so fucking difficult about this concept?
